Sweet Corn and Fresh Ideas

August 9th marked the opening day of the Floyd County Farmers’ Market. Now in its second year, the market has relocated from downtown Prestonsburg to out on the side of Route 114, just past the Mountain Arts Center.  In a particularly difficult growing season, growers and customers alike were excited to be there.

The Floyd County Farmers’ Market will be open every Tuesday morning from 9 AM -12 PM, and every Friday evening from 4-6 PM, through the rest of the summer and possibly into September.  For growers interested in joining the market, contact Keith Hackworth at the Floyd County Extension Office at (606) 886-2668.
