Connection Lost – Appalachian Youths’ Perspectives on Broadband

This past August, Appalshop’s youth media project, the Appalachian Media Institute (AMI), hosted a month-long digital citizenship lab that explored the realities of limited broadband access in the coalfields, and the obstacles people here face because of our lack of high-speed Internet availability.  The following is a radio adaptation of the pieces produced by Brandon Hall, Robbie Thacker, Dustin Hall, Jayden Tolliver, Oakley Fugate, Joey Salyer, and Eli Gover. To learn more about the project and to see the multimedia features, check out this page on the AMI website!
